Onam celebration was held on 25th August 2023 in the Pre-Primary section of MES Central school, Tirur. A special assembly was conducted. Children actively participated in Onam-based cultural programs. The mythological story behind onam was presented through a skit by children.Maveli delivered a meaningful message to the children. After the assembly the children were served with “Paalada payasam” and Onam special sweets in their classrooms.All the children brought flowers from their home-garden and actively participated in making the “ Pookkalam”. Children were given an activity sheet with an Onam-picture to colour. Overall celebration was very grand and children enjoyed all the activities to their maximum.
Each class made their own ATTHAPPOOKKALAMS. Housewise TUG OF WAR competition was held. Children enjoyed the performance of 'MAVELI'. The highlight of the day was ONAMSADHYA for students. It was a memorable event.
Primary Montessori Onam celebration
Special assembly was conducted and floor wise programmes like Onam message, entry of Maveli and Vamanan, Story of Onam was shown , Thiruvathira, pulikali and Onam song was conducted by the children. Payasam was distributed to the children after lunch and snacks during the snack time. Later activity sheets based on Onam festival was given for colouring. Children even played games in the class and enjoyed the whole day.
