MES Central School, Tirur, observed Anti-Drugs Day with a special assembly held today, highlighting the importance of creating awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse. The assembly was thoughtfully organized to promote a strong anti-drug message and to encourage students to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyles. As part of the programme, students who actively participated in various anti-drug–related activities and programmes were honoured with certificates and prizes in recognition of their efforts and commitment. The highlight of the assembly was the inspiring message delivered by Mr. VP Madhusoodanan, the Principal of MES Central School, Tirur. In his address, he spoke in detail about the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society. He emphasized the role of students in making informed choices, resisting negative influences, and becoming responsible citizens. His words left a deep impact, and the students listened to the message with great interest and attention. Later in the afternoon, school counseling department organized flash mob and rapid quiz. The students were thrilled and informed.
The Drug Awareness Observance Week was conducted successfully at Sr. Sec. MES Central School with the objective of educating students about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Various awareness programs and competitions were organized throughout the week, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students. For students of Classes IX and X, the Drug Awareness Quest challenge was conducted over five days. Daily questions related to drug abuse prevention, vaping, Operation Toofan, and related awareness topics were displayed, and students actively participated by submitting their answers. The daily winners qualified for the grand finale. For students of Classes VI, VII, and VIII, a Newspaper Scrapbook Competition was organized. Students collected and compiled newspaper articles, reports, and awareness materials related to drug abuse and its social impact. The response was overwhelming, and the creativity and effort displayed by the participants were highly commendable. The week-long observance culminated in a grand finale held during the lunch break . A vibrant Flash Mob was performed in the school campus to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to reinforce the message of a drug-free society. The performance attracted the attention of students and staff alike and effectively conveyed the theme of the observance. Following the flash mob, a Rapid Fire Finale was conducted among the daily winners of the Drug Awareness Quest. The participants displayed remarkable knowledge and awareness, making the competition both exciting and informative. The winners of the Drug Awareness Quest and the Newspaper Scrapbook Competition were honoured with prizes during the assembly. The prize distribution ceremony recognized the students' active participation and encouraged them to continue promoting healthy and responsible choices. The Drug Awareness Observance Week concluded on a successful note, creating meaningful awareness among students and strengthening the school's commitment to building a safe, healthy, and drug-free campus.
